Job description
We are seeking a professional individual to add to our team in Amsterdam as Director of Strategy and Business Development for the eBay Classifieds Group.
You will be part of the Global eBay Classifieds Finance Team, located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and you will work with a small team mainly focussed on Business Development and Acquisitions. We have a lot of opportunities to grow and constantly looking for opportunities to expand our portfolio worldwide.
Manage the eCG Business Development and M&A team, develop the staff and drive the eCG M&A process and strategy
Generate M&A Classifieds leads to take to transaction
Generate and share market insights on competitive threats and opportunities that drive strategic decisions for the Group and local Bus
Liaise with the eBay Marketplaces Biz Dev and M&A VP in order to ensure consistent approach share learnings and leverage the department resources
Support the eCG CEO and CFO on strategic projects that contribute to the overarching eCG strategy
Support eCG leadership when required on tasks important to the internal or external communications the Group on key topics or internal reviews
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, qualified to MBA level or similar level and will have:
5+ years post-MBA experience, ideally in (corporate) M&A or in a consumer Internet business
Proven track record of exceptional performance at all professional and educational career stages
High energy and a desire to work in a results oriented, fast growth environment
Excellent qualitative analytical skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent project management skills
Willingness & desire to work at an operational level when required
Ability to develop strong constructive professional relationships and to influence peers, managers, business unit leaders, legal groups and other teams
Willingness and ability to work flexibly either during periods with high workloads or conversely during periods of low workloads
Strong entrepreneurial drive and passion for building businesses from the ground up
Natural interest or experience in Internet, media and technology trends and developments
