The Comedy & Entertainment group Northern Europe has a portfolio of brands like Comedy Central, VIVA, Comedy Central Extra and Comedy Central Family through linear and digital platforms, which is broadcasted in Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria.

Acquisition Director GSA (f/m)
- Preferably located in HQ in Amsterdam (or based in Munich close to German studios) -
The Acquisition Director GSA closes content license deals with third parties or within VIMN for the platforms of the Comedy Central & Viva brands to maximize the ‘eyeballs’. He/she stays closely informed on trends, knowledge and developments of the content market in GSA countries. He/she has a supporting role in the set-up of an optimal broadcast schedule and advises how to best handle the acquired content.
Just the right job for you:
Develop an acquisition strategy together with your team that will drive ratings on our platforms and maximize revenues
Acquire content for the Comedy Central brand in German speaking countries to meet the ‘eyeball’ targets for best possible price/value
Work closely with C&E management to achieve all business goals
Support the Director Programming in the schedule process
Build and maintain a large network of content suppliers to obtain content licenses
Track the availability of comedy & entertainment related content within the international market and the international MTV Networks organization
Handle internal administrative, registration and financial workload of closing license deals
Track the Comedy Central programming library & amortization
Negotiate and administrate rights of program acquisitions in close cooperation with the legal department
Work closely with the presentation coordinator and support the traffic processes regarding closed license
Prepare acquisition budget & planning
Represent other VIMN brands to use economy of scale to secure better prices for content
Take part in biggest content markets: MIP TV and Mipcom
Travel between Northern European countries

That‘s why we want you:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in TV content acquisition and programming in the GSA countries
Higher vocational education in working and thinking (Master degree)
Excellent knowledge of German and English
Strong understanding of linear and non-linear channels/platforms and respective rights that need to be secured
An extensive network of relations in German speaking Broadcast World
Great connector between different departments/ foster collaboration
Knowledge of processes in the media industry
Seeing the bigger picture and focused on C&E results (on top of team result)
Great management skills
Strong negotiating skills and a commercial drive
Strong communication skills; Able to be a sparring partner to management and external parties.
