Director Retail Procurement Tommy Hilfiger - Amsterdam



Job Description

This new role is intended to focus more attention to all matters relating to Procurement for Retail Stores and Shop-in-shops for Tommy Hilfiger (that includes fixtures and store logisitics NOT product)

To manage the Supply chain for all purchasing activities, including overseeing Visual Merchandising and Windows, to maintain best market prices and service levels to supply the growing needs of all regions within Europe and REM market’s to the approved Tommy Hilfiger quality standards.

Purchasing & Financial Analysis

Oversee Financial Analyst and Procurement team in their overall activities to ensure:

Effective Purchase Order & Invoicing work-flow and processes, including accurate and prompt payments of Suppliers.

Ensure Supplier agreements for payment terms are in place maximizing the 2% discount rate for fast payments.

Support Financial Analyst with provision of all required Financial Reporting including up-to-date information for Capex .


Operations, Logistics & Traffic Management
Oversee Operations, Stock and Logistics team in all their overall activities.

Investigate new supply sources in-line with the requirements of the Business to better service its needs including the best options for the development of the Rapid Emerging Markets Group with their special needs regarding importation restrictions.

Supervise the Supply chain and establish necessary Buying Contracts are in place to set Terms and Agreements that are beneficial to Tommy Hilfiger, especially for all key Partner manufacturers and nominated Logistics company.

Analyze and negotiate prices for all purchases for Retail Stores & Shop-in-shop’s.

Establish and maintain regular communication with all suppliers on quality, forecasts and price levels.

Set-up and execute Tendering process for product categories where further savings can be achieved.


General
Obtain a good overview of current Concept standards by working in conjunction with the Design & Concept Manager to maximize Value Engineering principles for manufacture.

Oversee Purchasing and Supply chain activities for Store Development, Shop-in-shop, Window’s & Visual Merchandising working with each Department Manger on Reports to assess Supplier costs to take cost saving actions where there is opportunity.

Support Operations and Traffic Manager and Retail Analyst with efficient ongoing development, running and maintenance of the Retail Database via Sharepoint.

Assist Senior Director of Design & Development with ad-hoc management tasks and general team management as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

Essential experience:  Minimum 5 years of senior Retail Store Purchasing and logistics
 Education: degree in BA
 Purchasing Qualification
 Retail Industry experience

Other:  Highly numerate and analytical
 Experience in retail procurement processes, systems and strategies
 Good working knowledge of Design Standards and materials as well as value engineering principles
 Very good communication & interpersonal skills
 Strong analytical skills
 Excellent organization and project management skills especially Planning and Time Management.
 Presentation skills
 Team player, able to adopt the Company culture and good build relationships with colleagues & Suppliers spread over Europe.
 Strong affinity with Store Concepts in a retail environment
 Strong MS Office skills
 Open-minded and international mindset
 Excellent command of the English language, written and spoken
